I begun to count the seconds between the thunder. We decided to make a break for lower ground once there was 20 seconds between the strikes. When we got our chance we departed the crevasse and descended toward Bears Playground. It was still sleeting and the entire ground was covered in white. On the way we discovered a warm and dry cave that we again took refuge in. This was pleasant and from our perch we could now see Crestone Peak which was covered in white from the sleet. It was a warm and sunny day just a few hours earlier.
