Death on Kit Carson

Two weeks earlier a woman was killed on Kit Carson by lightning, and the weekend before a man fell to his death while descending neighboring Blanca Peak (14,345 ft, 4372.4 m) attempting to find shelter from a fast moving storm. His 11 year old son had witnessed the fall. Earlier this summer I met a father with an 11 year old son on the summit of Mount of the Holy Cross (14,009 feet, 4270 m). The father had climbed all of the 14ers and was experienced. Now he was climbing them again with his 11 year old son. An amazing accomplishment - especially for an 11 year old. While talking to the father I remember him saying they needed to climb the Sangre de Cristo's and a few in the Elk Range to complete them all. I still wonder if this was the same father and son?
